CarpitRight has been established to ensure that new anglers and those coming into still water course fishing from a different discipline are able to get the most from their sport in the safest way possible, for themselves, the fish and the enviroment. It is also a good way to try carp fishing or any other still water discipline, get good advice on the equipment needed without having to buy all the exspensive tackle first.

All coaching sessions take place on a private lake which is exclusive to CarpitRight. With no public access you are guaranteed peace and quiet during your stay.

Our sport is under threat and we, the anglers, have to protect it if we are to enjoy our fishing now and ensure it's future. At CarpitRight it's my aim to teach budding still water anglers, young and old, the necessary skills to catch fish and return them safely, ensuring that our impact on the fish and the environment is minimal. I also hope to improve your catch rate by giving you my knowledge gained over many years and thousands of hours spent on the bank.

In 2004 I became the keeper of a beautiful lake, well stocked with most still water species. Set in 15 acres of private woodland the 4 acre lake is a tranquil haven in the very heart of Dorset.

In 2007 I qualified as a First For Sport Level 2 angling coach, currently the highest qualification available and I am proud to be a member of the Professional Anglers Association. I am very passionate about fishing and want to help anglers new and old to get as much enjoyment as I do.

I believe our sport is seriously under threat from those who see fishing as a cruel and unnecessary sport

As well as teaching the various skills needed to catch fish by design, I am also keen to ensure anglers know how to look after their quarry, how to ensure that from the moment the fish is landed, everything is ready and organised day or night to ensure the fish is cared for and returned as quickly as possible.

Between 2000/01 to 2005/06 rod license sales have increased by 211,419 (Environment Agency figures 2007). Talking with Jerry Bridger of Angling Publications, Jerry stated that in his opinion at least 50 to 60% of new licenses issued could be attributed to new carp anglers.

I believe education is the key to ensure the future of angling. Without it I'm very concerned that our Sport will have the same fate as fox hunting. Already parliament is being lobbied by extremists trying to ban pleasure angling and English Nature are placing more and more restrictions on waters near you.

It really is up to us, the everyday angler, to ensure that we protect our sport. Modern carp fishing is not an in-expensive sport, quality tackle and equipment can cost thousands of pounds. Why not spend some time and a little money learning how to use it properly, ensuring that you get the very best from your tackle and the time you spend on the bank. Let's face it,

If you're not catching you're camping!

Also learn how to deal safely with your catch, get a good picture and best of all watch it swim away none the worse for having met you.

Take only pictures and leave only footprints!

Enjoy your fishing & tight lines.
