Hi Ray, thanks for the email - I was going to drop you a line anyway to tell you of our latest success. Before I do, since returning home we have all joined Warrington Anglers Association. They are a friendly club which has lots of good waterways, lakes and rivers. The kids were £14 for the year and that allows us to use any of their waters. One of the old guys there was getting rid of his bivvy, specimen net and a few other bargains so we got them all really cheap - can't afford to be a tackle tart!!

Anyway we've been going to a lake in Warrington a couple of times now. Fished all day and blanked first time we went. This was as much due to the fact that there were only a few pegs left by the time we got there as quite a few guys had spent the night on the lake. However we went yesterday and Edward fished all day while I took Jonathan to rugby. Got a call from him about 11.00am telling me he'd just landed a 16lb 9oz mirror. We met up with him later and he got another slightly smaller at 15lb 4oz. The first one was caught using a single boilie (spicy prawn and shrimp - the old guy at the club told us they were all catching on this bait). For his second one he used the single boilie with a pva bag full of halibut micro pellets, puppy food pellets and crushed boilie. Couldn't have done it without your help mate. Edward was so pleased he was shaking with the excitement of playing the fish and landing it. We are really enjoying our fishing - the weekends can't come around quickly enough. I've attached the photos for you to have a look.
All the best
Kevin

Hi Ray,
We have had a brilliant few months fishing, everybody catching new Pb's (personal best) and a lot of fish (even dad!). We have mostly been fishing at Bradshaw hall fisheries in Bolton, I had my 21lb from there and Christopher had his pb 10Lb as well. I've not been over night yet because Dad has been busy at work, but I keep pestering him to take me!
Met a really nice fella, Andy, who owns a tackle shop in St Helens who is good mates with the owner of Solar Tackle (who has shown me a few things that solar are bringing out next year) and other companies which he is getting together for a charity event in january, which should be good! He also wants to take the lads that go to his shop to Oxford to catch a few fish.
I've been preparing my own particles and I'm hoping that I can start rolling my own bait soon, when I get the table. Tying loads of rigs and starting to get used to lead core.
I want to start fishing on a harder club water (the weedy one) so I want to try the trick you showed me. I hope you are doing alright and the lake is fishing well for you, and I hope I can come fishing with you next summer.
Thanks for the lessons,
Tight lines,
Jonathan Parr
p.s photos attached!

pps What Jonathan didn't say was that he won the star prize for his 21lb 1oz mirror in Total Carp and received a Solar kit. Edward won £50 worth of bait for his 16lb mirror from Warrington Anglers last year - so you must be teaching them well!!
